My experience at Savannah State University was very pleasant experience. Although I only toured the school once during orientation, the campus life and student life seemed like I was back home up in Gwinnett County. I really liked how the administration, the customer service department was there for me and also provided. When arrived there on campus, I appreciated the welcoming smiles, the warmth in the air, and the excitement that was given to me as soon as I walked through those doors. That’s really important for me since I’ll be spending 3 more years there and to be given a great start of feeling welcomed helped believe this school is just the right feeling for me!

Savannah State University is a good place overall. I am a freshman. It's not a bad school; it's just not one that is talked about. I enjoy it here. There are different ethnicities here, and you will definitely find a place to fit in here. There are many things to do here. On and off campus, we are 15 minutes from downtown Savannah and 15 from the beach, which is fun. I guarantee you that the campus life here is excellent. There are parties thrown nearly every football game, and we have what is called CAB week, where our campus activities board plans some fabulous parties/activities to do leading to homecoming, which is the spectacle of everyone's eyes in college. Seeing how I am a freshman, I can't tell you about the homecoming part because I have yet to see it, but when I do, I will be back to tell you all about it. The only downside about staying is that Down here, you will need a car, which is a must if you wish to go downtown, or Pooler, which is the real downtown.

Savannah State is a really good university. The diversity is great and it feels like home when you are there. My freshman year was the worst because we had a lot of shootings and theft going on. Finishing my senior year I would like to continue at Savannah State, even though the food isn't always good or housing quality is bad. Most days I don’t ever want to leave but I know I have to. A big change that is needed is having more professors for certain majors, like mine only had two professors but they overwork themselves and us students. Also, I would like to see housing get better because a lot of the rooms are falling apart or have no hot water. Even still, it is a great school to attend and get life lessons and experience.
